Krampus is the same being as Santa—it's just a form he takes on to scare children. He also transforms some of his elves into crows to help him with the scaring. He kidnaps misbehaved children in the night and locks them up in a cage he carries on his back, swoops them up to the clouds, grunting loudly as he whips the side of the cage with his birch rod. He brings them all back home afterwards. The children who are penitent, he rewards with their most desired gift on Christmas day in his friendlier Santa form.

The artificial hunter and hound venture out into the forest to seek out the favorite prey of their maker who is an automaton master-builder. The machines are superb in motor and cognitive functions and have an ethereal appearance to them.

The young archer uses his own life force to power up his bow and arrows. He goes on a hunt for Cursed Ones that have crossed their boundaries in the forest.
